Remembering the Impact

9/11 was a very tragic event and many people’s lives were greatly impacted because of this. This attack on America has caused many families to be torn apart and 24 years later it still has an effect on American citizens. Every year we honor the people we have lost on that day such as firefighters trying to save as many people as they could and even innocent people that had to suffer.

I was born after 9/11 happened, but I discovered about the terrorist attack when I was in about 4th grade. I had been assigned a worksheet about what happened on that day, and I had to do research about it. When I got into a deeper dive on what it really was and what caused it, I was astonished that I haven’t heard about it until just then. It broke my heart seeing all the footage and photographs of the incident and seeing all the people that had to witness of all the horrors of it. Even though this happened way before I was born, I can recall all the images and information like I actually was there.

Documentary photography can help really feel like you were there because it is able to show all the emotion and tragedy without even saying a word. You can just feel all the sadness and confusion from seeing the images because it really was a sad and confusing time. I have been able to learn all about 9/11 through documentary photography, and it makes it feel like it was just yesterday that it happened. There are so many images out there on the internet of 9/11 and anybody can learn about it; everyone should be able to feel that emotion whenever they look at any images of the attack because it truly was a sad day for everybody. Documentary photography can help anybody learn about anything, not just 9/11, it is a great learning material to use whenever someone wants to learn about history.

File formats

JPEG

JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group and is what many cameras have as their default output. JPEG is much smaller than other formats, so it loses some imagine detail.

HEIF

HEIF stands for High Efficiency Image Format, and it is the newest file type on the list. HEIF is very similar to JPEG but takes up less space and has increased quality.

TIFF

TIFF stands for Tagged Image File Format and is another format that is commonly used. TIFF can be easily converted to JPEG, but many photographers still prefer to edit a TIFF file.

RAW

Many cameras now offer to shoot in RAW which means that it is stored originally how the camera captured it. RAW is a better option if you wish to create more high-quality files and it is used by many professional photographers.

DNG

DNG stands for Digital Negative, and it was created by Adobe to provide a RAW file that be used by all cameras. DNG is offered as a main RAW format or as an alternative to the native format.

PNG

PNGs were designed as an improvement on the GIF format. PNGs are small and are in a lossless format which means that there is plenty of detail for viewing and editing.

GIF

GIFs are also like PNGs, they both have lossless compression which means that the files are small, but the image still has great quality. GIF also can be used for animations.

BMP

BMP is also a lossless file format so they a lot of high-quality information. BMPs are great for printing because color data is saved for each pixel without compression, but they are not great for sharing photos.

PSD

PSD is used by Adobe to save data, and it allows you to store edits using individual layers than on the imagine itself. PSDs can offer plenty flexibility because layers can be added, removed or edited at any time and it will not affect the original photo.

All about me :)

Hello guyssss!!! My name is Madison and If I had to choose my favorite color, it would probably be pink, but my runner-up would be navy blue. I actually used to hate the color pink, but I feel like every girl had that phase. My favorite meal is honestly kind of basic but I loveeeee red beans and rice. If I could eat that every day, I would. Whenever my mom would tell me she’s making red beans I always get really excited because it’s not often that she makes it.

Whenever someone would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would always say “I don’t know” and I still genuinely don’t know what I would want to be, but if I had to choose, I would be a crime scene investigator. It sounds kind of hard to get that job, but I’ve always had an interest in crime shows, an example would be like dateline because my grandma would always watch it when I was little. I absolutely hate singing in front of other people but if I had to sing something for karaoke night, I’d chose something like Taylor Swift because many people have heard her music, and she’s well known. In my opinion, the best power would be invisibility because it gives you the ability to spy on people and I’m really nosy, so if I were a super-hero, I’d pick invisibility as my power. I take my Saturday nights very seriously because the weekend is the only time I get to relax, so to me a perfect Saturday night would be a nice rainy afternoon, maybe a little chilly, and a movie night because I love watching movies.

I actually used to have a python as a pet, but we gave him away about a month ago to a better family, but he’s technically not a “wild animal” so if I could have one, I’d probably want a bobcat. I love any type of cat (I have 5 cats currently) so it would be awesome to have a wild one, only if it likes me though. If I could go anywhere in the world I would definitely want to go to the Bahamas. The Bahamas are a really fun place to travel to because of the nice beaches, and it just screams dream vacay to me. I actually think I’m going to the Bahamas next year on a cruise, so that’s very exciting. I’d always wished I was born during like prime 2000’s because it just seemed so cool, so I would want to travel back to maybe 2005 mostly because of the fashion and just the environment because it was a very different time back then.
